| i nominate the british group schmoof as the kitschest of the century (have a look at their website www.schmoof.com) with their disc bedroom disco. a combination of electroclash vs glam, leather and pvc, lots of pink and synth pop with an unstoppable beat, a world populated by pop stars (popstar), cocktails (cocktails), chocolate fantasies (chocolate boyfriend, exactly) and bizarre astronauts (kinky spaceman) where the major preoccupation is to be out of fashion (falling out of fashion). 'roba' combined with suzi quatro and gary glitter with the knowledge – loaned from the comic commentator noel coward and quoted on the cover, "extraordinary how potent cheap music is"...
